Thermoforming,
(Thermofoil),
is a manufacturing process of mating a sheet or
film of thermoplastic to a wooden furniture
component.
The
sheet or film is heated to its forming
temperature. Then it is stretched over onto a
temperature-controlled, single-surface mold made
of of wood. Vacuum is applied to the
opposite side of the wooden component to assure
glue and plastic adhere thoroughly to the wooden
surface.
For
your cabinets and other wooden surfaces in your
kitchen, restaurant, office or hospital, the
Thermofoil film provides the smooth, easy to clean
surface, just other non porous surfaces such as
Formica and heavily processed wood. But
unlike Formica, the thermoforming process allows
the surfaces to be non-flat, so it has
interesting, decorative or functional grooves
and patterns, with out the extensive work and
expensive maintenance associated with wooden
surfaces that has similar features.
Thermoforming-Thermofoil
then offers the best of two worlds
at a cost that beats Wood ownership and look
that outsmarts the plain rectangular look of the
Formica surface. With Over 40 colors and patterns available
we are certain that we can match your
specification.
Some
of components that can benefit from
Thermoforming are, Cabinet Doors,
Drawer fronts,
Decorative Edges, Furniture components,
Store Display,
Jewelry Display, Computer Kiosks,
Windows or Doors &
Gateways Valence etc.
